Northycote Farm

Today there was yet more water in the trench but luckily the area with water was ready to be back filled.

However, the stones we needed to check out to see if they were archaeological or just random stones needed to be bailed out – hence a session of dam building first.  The stones proved to be random stones so the trench was back filled.

It seems the resistivity survey was picking up natural variations in the ground rather than anything archaeological.  At least we know that now and so on to our next site in a couple of weeks’ time.
