Today started off well but then went downhill with the rain until we had to abandon the dig. It was one of those days when our hard work didn't seem to be getting us much further, we seemed to be at 33 cm depth for ages! (It is a 4m trench though and the ground very hard and compact)
Anyway, we have now reached a new context. While the finds have dwindled there is still a considerable amount of charcoal spread throughout the trench.
We will see what next time brings (at least we are now below 33cm!). Next dig 29 September 2024.
