Yesterday we got a little distracted from the planned day. We did expand the trench to confirm the return of the foundation trench but then the focus turned to a large stone which could well have been a boundary marker stone . This would probably once stood upright.
It took some time to clear the plants that had grown over it and then a lot of effort to turn it but it was worth the effort. A good find.
