Today was day one of our test pit dig at Holy Rosary Catholic Primary Academy. We had been asked to locate the test pit near to where a road was known to have been sited and within an hour we had located a surface which was very compacted.
A map indicates that there was also a building located in the vicinity so maybe the surface is connected to the building? More to do tomorrow.
Years 2 and 1 came out to learn about what was under the ground on their field and to sieve for finds. They did very well finding a variety of artefacts which the school will keep.
