Despite the cold damp dull weather the team began work on the trench tracing back from the possible two ditches towards the south westerly end of the trench looking for evidence of the bank.
The decision was then made to dig a test pit 2 m from the south westerly end of the trench to see what, if anything, could be found.
Worked stopped on the test pit at a depth of 50 cm and will continue next Sunday, 27 January, weather permitting.
The mystery continues...
